Martin County’s beloved state park includes 13 natural habitats including scrub pine, flatwoods, mangroves, river swamps and sand pine. Jonathan Dickinson State Park offers opportunities for paved and off-road biking, equestrian trails, hiking trails, boating, canoeing and kayaking. Want to camp? Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge

This non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness in people of all ages. When available tours of this rare cypress swamp are offered from October to May. You can “tromp the swamp” and stroll past ancient cypress trees completely 

Savannas Preserve State Park

This preserve is home to the largest and most intact remnant of Florida’s east coast savannas. Visitors can learn about the nature of Martin County in the Environmental Education Center and on over eight miles of multi-use trails.

Kitching Creek Preserve

This 51-acre nature area and 7-mile trail in Hobe Sound, Florida is the perfect place to observe alligators, otters, song birds, raptors and a host of wading bird species. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, camping and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are allowed on the trail but must be kept on leash.
